Background

The species is widespread in a large area in the temperate zones around the world. It grows in the countryside and hills up to 1500m.

Function

The small fruits (berries) are considered a concentrated "natural source" of Vitamin C. The vitaminising action is connected to the antioxidant action of bioflavonoids, which help to revitalise the skin. The advantages of using the Rose Hip extract, compared to pure vitamin C, consist in the fact that the extract is more bioavailable for the presence of carotenoids and flavonoids which synergise and improve the radical scavenger effectiveness of vitamin C.
